Supporters of Prince Harry and Meghan Sussex have built a quiet but powerful legacy. Known as the “Sussex Squad,” this global community began as a digital movement defending the couple from coordinated online attacks and tabloid abuse. What many may not realize is how this collective has grown into a philanthropic force. Together, Sussex supporters have raised over $1,221,000 for charitable causes across six years.
A data review of 32 fundraising events between 2019 and 2025 shows how supporters mobilized donations from across the world. Their efforts span six continents, with major contributions directed toward Africa, the United States, and global initiatives. In 2020 alone, the Squad raised nearly $389,000. That same year, the Sussexes matched a $130,000 donation to CAMFED, a pan-African organization supporting girls’ education.

Supporters Prioritize Long-Term Impact

Africa remains a key focus. Of the total raised, $426,910 went directly to African-based charities. Additional funds under “Global” campaigns also supported African communities. These include clean water access in southeastern Nigeria, early childhood education in South Africa, and over 120,000 trees planted under the Sussex Forest Project, an environmental campaign launched in the family’s honor.
Supporters have also contributed to disaster relief through World Central Kitchen and collaborated with women’s rights and mental health organizations. Every campaign is community-led and independently tracked with donation receipts, making this a transparent, grassroots effort with global impact.
Charities Are Vetted With Care
The Squad operates with careful vetting, ensuring that supported organizations reflect the Sussexes’ publicly stated values. Since Prince Harry and Meghan’s 2020 visit to the Preschool Learning Center in Los Angeles, where they planted forget-me-nots in memory of Princess Diana, Sussex supporters have used the birthdays of Archie and Lilibet as annual opportunities to fundraise.

To celebrate Archie’s and Lilibet’s birthdays from May to June, fans raised $27,362 for the Assistance League of Los Angeles, a nonprofit providing underserved youth with clothing, school supplies, early education, and scholarships. That same year, the group also backed Invictus Games-related initiatives that support veterans and their families.
These campaigns are tied to meaningful milestones: birthdays, anniversaries, and themed global events. From Archie’s birth in 2019 to Harry’s 40th birthday in 2024, the Squad consistently transforms celebration into service. Most fundraisers are visual, branded, and clearly linked to verified donation platforms.
Supporters Celebrate Meghan’s Era of Joy
The 2025 campaign is part of what fans are now calling Meghan’s “Era of Joy”, a celebration of purpose, creativity, and light. A California-based artist, Amelia E. Noyes, whose previous work raised $7,000 for the Invictus Games, will donate a new piece for this fundraiser’s charity auction. Known for vibrant, intuitive art that merges fashion, pop culture, and compassion, Noyes’s contribution adds both beauty and impact to the initiative.

This is great news! I have to say though – doesn’t anyone wish they would speak out on Gaza? I know it would cause headlines, but literally launching jars of jam creates weeks of press, and H&M are so passionate about vulnerable children; it seems bizarre to me to ignore the suffering of thousands in Palestine. I cannot believe that either of them condone the actions of the Israeli Government but the silence here is deafening. I am obviously a supporter of them both, but this feels horrible.
Hoe much you like them to react to the situation in Gaza, they can’t say a thing about it. If they stepped back a senior Royals They are stil Members of the Royal Family and Royals even as private citizens, can’t say anything because it’s Political
I’m sure they would have if they could. The only thing how they can help is by partnering with WKC
Thank you for replying without attacking me.
Celia, isn’t it easier for you to question how you can better support the communities you feel need your support?
I am sure their heart is in the right place, but their focus must remain humanitarian and can never veer into the political. However, a quick Google search will show their stance on the conflict and involvement, along with partnering with others in offering humanitarian aid.
Thank you.
That part yes
Somehow Celia you saying you’re a fan doesn’t make it true. You’re saying they should speak out (I noticed it’s just THEM , what about others in high places or children charities) if they spoke out ,you as a fan would know that the media would twist whatever the Sussexes say and drowned out what the actual problem is which are the children plus are you trying to say them speaking out is going to stop what is going on in Gaza????? You said it’s bizarre them not speaking out I believe it’s bizarre that YOU believe it’s horrible and that them not having screaming headlines in the media must mean they condone what is happening as if they’re head of state and can stop the war. Check out Archwell, you’ll see that they’ve been spoken out and helping the people since the war began. YOU ARE NOT A FAN. PERIOD.
Yes ok – I take all your points. I guess I was in a dark place and upset with all those who have a huge platform and don’t speak out. I saw Misan Harriman on instagram literally begging people to say anything at all about the genocide. Many in the public eye won’t talk about it and it feels bizarre that a lot of the world are pretending there is nothing happening. Straight afterwards, I read an article where Harry was talking about his mission in Angola, and he spoke of children living in fear because of the risk of landmines. It all culminated in me feeling pretty desperate. I don’t want to engage any further and I won’t write anything more, but I want to confirm that I am a Sussex supporter – I always have been. This is probably the first critical thing I have ever written on either of them. I apologise for the comment and for any offence.
Exactly that it’s so on point
Dawn you are absolutely correct. The previous commenter is not a Sussex supporter. Because Sussex supporters have participated in fundraising efforts through the Sussex’s partnership with World Central Kitchen before
this current conflict. The Sussex’s are not ignoring what is happening in Gaza. They are not world leaders and are not in the position dictate or negotiate a position to cease conflict in that region. They have made it known how tragic this situation on both sides. For someone to say they need to do more, is one, not a Sussex supporter and two, have never contributed to any charitable activities and support for numerous Sussex philanthropic efforts around the world.

So proud of the Sussex Squad and of the couple who inspires them!
