Back in March, we reported on the moment Law Roach casually dropped the bombshell on the SAG Awards red carpet. “The wedding has already happened. You missed it,” he said with a knowing smile. Fans lost their minds. Zendaya offered a non‑denial on Jimmy Kimmel. The internet ran wild with AI‑generated wedding photos. But Tom Holland stayed silent.
Until now, in a new cover interview for Esquire‘s July/August issue, Tom Holland has finally addressed the marriage rumours – and confirmed what we all suspected. The wedding happened. Family was there, and the couple is as grounded as ever.
In his new cover interview for the July/August issue of Esquire, Tom Holland has addressed his much‑rumoured secret wedding to Zendaya for the first time.
When the phoney AI wedding photos of Tom popping Moët with his new bride on Lake Como started to spread across social media, racking up over 10 million likes in the process, Holland explains that his grandmother saw them and thought she hadn’t been invited. When Esquire asked him if he was forced to send out similar messages to any other family members, he replied: “No, because they were all there.”
While Holland refused to be drawn on the day itself – “That’s all you’ll get on that” – he did open up about his relationship with “Zee” and the impact she’s had on his peace of mind.
“Our business can present very stressful situations and it’s really nice to have a bedrock of a relationship that will stand the test of time,” he told us. “We can support each other in ways that only we can, because only we understand really what it’s like to live this life, and I think that is such a luxury, because I just don’t understand how I would be able to have anything like that with anyone else.
“So, for me, I found my person. She’s my best friend, and I’m the happiest I have ever been when I’m with her, but I have also never felt so supported and safe, ever. Period.”

The Quiet Rebellion of Tom and Zendaya
Tom Holland and Zendaya have spent the better part of a decade defying Hollywood expectations. From hiding a car kiss in the early days of their relationship to now, confirming their marriage in an Esquire interview, they have always done things on their terms. No splashy announcement or carefully orchestrated social media rollout. Just a stylist’s offhand comment in March and now a brief, measured confirmation from Tom himself.
Their love story has unfolded in plain sight but never on display. They met on the set of Spider‑Man: Homecoming in 2016. They went public in 2021 and would later confirm their engagement in early 2025. And somewhere along the way, without anyone noticing, they got married. No Vogue cover. No People exclusive. Just a quiet ceremony with family present. In an era of performative celebrity, that is the most rebellious thing a couple can do.
Tom’s words about Zendaya in the Esquire interview are striking. He called her his “bedrock” and said he has never felt more supported or safe. “She’s my best friend,” he said, “and I’m the happiest I have ever been when I’m with her.” That kind of quiet, steady love is rare in Hollywood. It is also unmistakably real.
The detail about his grandmother seeing the AI‑generated wedding photos and thinking she had not been invited adds a touch of humanity to the story. Tom quickly clarified: “No, because they were all there.” Family was there. That is all that matters.
From “mate” in a 2015 Instagram caption to “My MJ” to “fiancée” to now, quietly, wife. They married their best friend. They did not ask for applause. But they deserve it anyway.
