Zaria Khadejah Carr, better known to her fans as Dutchess Dior, once filled timelines with maternity photoshoots, TikTok dances, and seemingly perfect family portraits. But behind the filters and social media glow, real life was unraveling in the most public and dangerous way. On Saturday, June 14, 2025, Zaria was murdered on Facebook Live by her husband Shamarcus Jameal Carr, who went by the name The Frenchman online. He later took his own life. She was 27. And now, gone.

The live video, streamed to Facebook, showed the couple in a volatile argument filled with accusations: infidelity, STDs, domestic violence, prison marriages, even love spells. It ended in horror. “This the type of b***h that get beat, long story short,” Shamarcus said, moments before grabbing a knife. Zaria asked, “What, you about to stab me?” Then the screen went dark.

From A Livestream To A Manhunt

At around 9:30 p.m. Saturday night, police in Twin City, Georgia, responded to a domestic disturbance call. Zaria was found unresponsive and pronounced dead at the scene. Her 2021 Dodge Challenger was missing, along with her husband. A manhunt followed.

By 11:00 p.m., authorities in Wayne County spotted the vehicle. As they attempted to stop it, Shamarcus died by suicide in the driver’s seat. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) confirmed both deaths and is now handling the ongoing investigation. WJCL, WJBF, and The NC Beat have reported key details of the case, while the GBI continues to investigate the circumstances, including the cause of death.

A Brutal Reminder Of What Domestic Violence Looks Like Today

Zaria’s murder is the latest in a disturbing trend of social media-enabled domestic violence. The CDC reports that 1 in 4 women in the U.S. experience severe intimate partner abuse. The Journal of Interpersonal Violence tracked a 15% increase in online-related abuse since 2019. And like too many others, Zaria was blamed. Comments under viral posts speculated that she provoked him. Others suggested the children weren’t his. Even in death, misogynoir persists.

But this wasn’t drama. This was a femicide. A mother. A Black woman. Murdered on live stream.
