A deadly 6.9 magnitude earthquake struck the Philippines this week, killing dozens and leaving widespread damage. Yet instead of focusing on real victims, Samantha Markle chose to launch a social media spectacle. She claimed her father, Thomas Markle Sr., was trapped on the 19th floor of a Cebu apartment building, unable to move after the quake. Within hours, both Thomas Sr. and Thomas Jr. contradicted her story, exposing the claim as another smear aimed at Meghan Sussex.

Samantha Markle Turns Earthquake Into Family Attack

On September 30, Samantha Markle posted on X that her father was stranded after the quake. She said elevators were down, her father could not walk, and he was “trapped.” Her post went further, blaming Meghan Sussex and calling her “evil,” a line she has repeated in public disputes. Instead of showing concern or attempting to verify facts, Samantha used a natural disaster to attack Meghan.

The claim spread quickly online, especially among anti-Sussex voices eager to weaponize it against Meghan. Yet Samantha offered no evidence beyond alleged text messages from a “family friend.” The lack of proof immediately drew skepticism, with users questioning why she was not speaking directly to her father or brother if the situation was real.

Thomas Sr And Jr Debunk Samantha’s Story

Just hours later, Thomas Markle Sr. told TMZ he was safe, mobile, and unaffected by the earthquake. He explained he was relaxing in his hotel room, watching old films, and confirmed the building had not been damaged. His comments made clear there was no entrapment or emergency.

Thomas Markle Jr. also recorded a video, mocking Samantha’s claims and emphasizing that their father was fine. He corrected her story, noting their father lives on the 18th floor, not the 19th, and described Samantha’s attempt to involve Meghan as “ridiculous.” His intervention not only undercut his sister’s credibility but also highlighted the long-running fractures between them.

Also, Samantha’s story had a fatal flaw. Cebu is twelve hours ahead of the U.S. East Coast, meaning the text she posted, timestamped September 28 at 1:19 PM Cebu time, was sent two days before the earthquake struck on September 30.

In other words, her “trapped on the 19th floor” proof could not possibly be linked to the quake. The timeline undermines her entire claim, exposing the message as either grossly misrepresented or outright fabricated. For critics, this became the smoking gun that showed Samantha was manufacturing drama rather than telling the truth.

The Markle Grift Keeps Meghan Sussex In The Crosshairs

This is not the first time Samantha Markle has manufactured drama. She has sued Meghan Sussex, for defamation while freely hurling insults online. She often positions herself as the family truth-teller despite offering little evidence and facing her own credibility issues. By dragging Meghan into an unrelated natural disaster, she once again used public tragedy for personal gain.

The wider pattern is clear. Samantha, Thomas Sr., and Thomas Jr. consistently exploit Meghan’s name to remain relevant. Whether through tabloid interviews, YouTube rants, or viral social media posts, the family fuels drama while Meghan remains silent. Their fixation shows how her estranged relatives continue to recycle falsehoods to tarnish her image.

Final Thoughts

The earthquake exposed more than seismic faults. It revealed how Samantha Markle manufactures stories to drag Meghan Sussex into headlines. Her story crumbled when her father denied everything and admitted he hadn’t spoken to her, while her brother openly mocked her. Samantha stands as a vindictive jester, obsessed with painting Meghan as the villain in her sad little drama. Meghan, meanwhile, lives happily and spares her not a single thought.
