Prince Harry is beginning a new chapter at BetterUp. After five years as the company’s chief impact officer, the Duke of Sussex is moving into a role as senior advisor.

BetterUp CEO and co-founder Alexi Robichaux announced the change on 6 November. He said Harry would work with the company’s team and some of its largest business customers on key projects.

The new role will also give Harry more time to develop his investments, explore business opportunities and support causes close to his heart, Robichaux said.

It is welcome news for those who have followed Harry’s commitment to mental wellbeing. Rather than bringing the partnership to an end, BetterUp has found a way to continue working with him in a capacity that fits this next stage of his life.

“In this new capacity, he will focus on key projects with some of our largest enterprise customers, working alongside our team and the leaders we partner with. The move also gives him more time to grow his portfolio of investments, pursue new business opportunities, and continue his support of philanthropic causes close to his heart.”

“Harry, thank you for what you’ve helped build here. I’m glad we get to keep doing this work together in this new capacity,”

A continued commitment to wellbeing

Harry joined BetterUp in March 2021 as its first chief impact officer. The company provides coaching and leadership development, and Harry has spoken about the value of seeking support and investing in personal growth.

In his announcement, Robichaux praised Harry’s understanding of coaching and his support for making it more widely available. He also thanked the duke for his contribution to the company.

During Harry’s time on its leadership team, BetterUp says it expanded into more than 30 additional countries. That growth reflects the company’s wider work over the period; Robichaux described Harry’s contribution as part of an important chapter for the business.

It is encouraging to see an organisation recognise the value of a relationship and adapt it as circumstances change. Harry’s interest in coaching and mental wellbeing has remained a consistent part of his public work, making this new position feel like a natural fit.

Supporting veterans through Invictus

Robichaux also confirmed that BetterUp’s partnership with the Invictus Games Foundation will continue. He said the company would keep working with Harry to support veterans as they build resilience and pursue goals in recovery and personal growth.

That commitment connects his work at BetterUp with a cause he has championed for years. It also shows how the new advisory role can leave room for both business projects and service.

For us, the announcement offers a reminder of what flexibility can make possible. Harry and BetterUp have chosen to maintain their partnership while allowing his responsibilities to evolve. We hope this next chapter gives him space to keep supporting work he cares about, and to bring the same energy to the opportunities ahead.
