The fish-and-chips clue was real: Kelly McKee Zajfen has now shared personal photographs from her British visit with Meghan Sussex, Prince Harry and baby Jack.

Well, we called it. On Tuesday, we reported that Kelly’s photographs of baby Jack eating his first fish and chips, and Kelly carrying him along a leafy country path, suggested that Meghan Sussex’s longtime friend was visiting Britain.

At the time, we were careful: Kelly had not disclosed her location, Meghan was absent from the photographs and the countryside could have been anywhere. Now Kelly has removed every remaining speck of doubt.

She was in Britain visiting Meghan, and Prince Harry was there too. Baby Jack appears to have had the entire Sussex household wrapped around one tiny finger.

Kelly shared a carousel of personal photographs from the trip, showing herself enjoying time with Meghan, Harry and their circle of friends. One particularly sweet picture shows Harry on the floor playing with Jack. Another captures Meghan holding Jack as he stares wide-eyed toward the camera. This was not a palace-issued photograph, a paparazzi ambush or another royal correspondent quoting an anonymous “source.” Kelly chose the images and shared them herself. That distinction matters.

“Having the best time,” she wrote. “There’s something so special about getting a taste of this magical place with my bestie, and having my sweet Jack along for the adventure.”

Kelly said she loved experiencing Jack’s “little firsts” and described the visit as precisely the family time she needed—with mashed peas and fish and chips on the side.

She then thanked the people they encountered in Britain for being kind to Meghan.

“To everyone we’ve met or bumped into, thank you for being so loving to my friend,” Kelly wrote. “It’s been beautiful to witness. She missed you too!”

That final sentence will probably cause a few headaches in certain British newsrooms. Meghan has spent years being told that Britain despises her, usually by the same newspapers that profit from publishing several stories about her every day. Kelly’s account describes something very different: ordinary people treating Meghan warmly and Meghan apparently being happy to reconnect with the country.

The photographs also puncture the endlessly recycled claim that Harry and Meghan are isolated, friendless or waiting desperately for the royal family to acknowledge them. Their actual life appears to involve old friends flying across the Atlantic, babies being fussed over, mahjong in the garden and Harry lying on the floor to play with Jack.

Kelly and Meghan have known each other for nearly 20 years. Kelly has said Meghan remained beside her after the devastating death of her nine-year-old son, George, in 2022. Harry and Meghan also supported the tennis tournament established in George’s memory, while Kelly has described the couple as a “guiding light” to her family.

Kelly welcomed Jack Oliver in March 2026, giving him the same middle name as George. Meghan later shared photographs of herself cuddling and kissing the redheaded baby. Judging by the new pictures, the reunion in Britain was just as affectionate.

There was also predictable criticism when Meghan did not accompany Harry to the WellChild Awards. Yet these photographs offer the obvious explanation that critics refuse to accept: Meghan and Harry can have separate schedules. Harry can attend a charity engagement while Meghan spends private time with their children and visiting friends.

Whenever Meghan accompanies Harry, critics accuse her of stealing his spotlight. Staying home, however, is treated as evidence that their marriage is troubled. A public photograph becomes proof that she wants attention, while pictures shared by a friend will inevitably be dismissed as calculated. The outrage is prepared long before the facts arrive.

Kelly’s post is considerably simpler. Her best friend moved to Britain, so she brought baby Jack to visit. Kelly and Jack sampled fish and chips, Meghan enjoyed mahjong with friends, the families spent time together and the visitors apparently received a warm welcome. Sometimes the fish-and-chips clue really is exactly what it looks like.
