Chanel Pysnik is leaving Prince Harry and Meghan Sussex’s Archewell Productions after five and a half years. She served as Head of Nonfiction, Film & TV and was among the company’s early hires.

Pysnik joined the production company in May 2021. Deadline reported that no immediate replacement had been named. Pysnik reflected on her time at Archewell in a statement. She has not revealed her future plans.

“It has been an honor to build Archewell Productions alongside Harry and Meghan for nearly six years,” said Pysnik, who has not revealed her future plans. “Together, we have produced work that has broken records, earned awards, and screened at prestigious film festivals, while reaching audiences around the world and contributing to important cultural conversations. I am incredibly proud of what we have accomplished, both creatively and commercially, and of the company we have built. I am grateful to Harry and Meghan for their trust and the opportunity to lead Archewell Productions through such a defining period.”

Harry and Meghan also shared their appreciation for Pysnik’s contributions in a joint statement.

“Chanel was one of our very first hires at Archewell Productions and spearheaded the strategic framework for our unscripted endeavors,” Prince Harry and Meghan Markle said in a joint statement. “She brought not only her expertise into the process, but also led with her heart in telling beautiful stories. Many successful productions later, her impact and legacy at Archewell is to be celebrated. We are both championing her as she embarks on this next chapter.”

A Long Chapter at Archewell Productions

Pysnik’s departure marks the end of a significant chapter with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s production team. For nearly six years, she helped develop the company’s nonfiction work.

In 2023, Variety reported that Pysnik continued to oversee unscripted content at Archewell Productions. She was also an executive producer of the Netflix documentary series Harry & Meghan, which followed the couple’s lives and their decision to step back as working members of the royal family.

The series became Netflix’s biggest documentary debut at the time. Its first three episodes recorded 81.55 million hours viewed in their first four days and reached Netflix’s Top 10 TV list in 85 countries.

Pysnik also served as an executive producer of Cookie Queens alongside Harry and Meghan. The documentary follows four girls during Girl Scout Cookie season and screened at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival, where Pysnik joined Harry and Meghan.

Celebrating the Work Behind the Scenes

For those who follow Harry and Meghan’s work, Pysnik’s name has been part of the story for years. On-screen talent may be the most visible, but executives and creative teams also help bring nonfiction projects to audiences.

“It’s been an honor” is such a lovely sentiment for a farewell. We think Pysnik’s message beautifully reflects on her time at Archewell. It also looks ahead to her next chapter.

Nearly six years with a company she joined in its early days is an achievement worth recognizing. As one of Archewell Productions’ first hires, Pysnik brought her experience to the venture as Harry and Meghan built it.

People move on in their careers. A departure after many years does not, by itself, suggest a falling-out. Creative professionals explore new opportunities, and companies evolve. Sometimes, a long working relationship simply comes to a natural close.

Harry and Meghan thanked Pysnik for her contributions and said they are championing her next chapter. Meanwhile, Pysnik expressed pride in the work they accomplished together.
