Zendaya and Tom Holland reportedly hired out Beaverbrook Hotel for a private wedding celebration, disrupting Vogue Williams’ plans for Spencer Matthews’ 38th birthday at the Surrey venue.

Tabloid reports claimed the celebration included around 250 guests, a no-phone policy, croquet, swimming and Japanese food, with several A-list names reportedly among the attendees.

Pregnant with her fourth child and barred from flying, Williams chose the hotel for its location near her doctor, only to discover it was unavailable due to the couple’s £500,000 event for 250 guests with a strict no-phone policy.

Williams told the Daily Mail’s Eden Confidential:

“I was, like, it would be nice to go to a hotel near London so I’m near my doctor if I have to come back. We were going to go up to Spenny’s parents’ place in Scotland, but I wasn’t allowed to fly, so I was meant to go to Beaverbrook, but Zendaya and Tom Holland had gotten married there, so they were totally booked out.”

Vogue Williams seems determined to stay in the celebrity news cycle by attaching herself to women with far bigger platforms than her own. After using Meghan Sussex for content on My Therapist Ghosted Me, where she somehow found a jumper draped over Meghan’s shoulders and a rainbow fruit platter worthy of ridicule, Zendaya is now providing the latest headline.

Yes, Vogue has a convenient royal-adjacent connection. She is married to Spencer Matthews, whose brother James Matthews is married to Pippa Middleton, Kate Middleton’s sister. That does not make Vogue royal, but it gives her just enough proximity to the royal ecosystem for comments about Meghan to travel further than they otherwise might.

Now the media expects us to believe that Zendaya and Tom Holland somehow “ruined” her birthday plans because she could not book a room at a hotel hosting their wedding celebration. Girl, be serious. Zendaya did not ruin your husband’s birthday because a hotel was unavailable.

Whatever Williams intended when she told the anecdote, she still turned a globally famous woman’s name into another headline. Meghan generated one round of coverage. Now Zendaya provides the next. At some point, the celebrity name-dropping becomes more interesting than the complaint itself.
