So I had to end it.” He goes further, naming exactly what he was reacting to, being blamed for his father’s own choices even while providing direct support during a medical crisis: “when he was in the hospital having his procedure because of his own wrongdoing and his own stubbornness and his own not listening and his own narcissism… that’s when you want to throw that and blame me for everything that you’ve done wrong, that you don’t do a damn thing to fix yourself. It starts to wear on you.” That’s a description of sustained emotional strain, blame-shifting, and a pattern severe enough that stepping back became necessary for his own mental and physical health”.
