During the event, Huerta surprised fans by sharing an Instagram story with his friend and fellow Mexican actor Alejandro Edda. The duo, known for their collaborative work in “The Purge Forever” (2021), Netflix’s “Narcos: Mexico,” and “The Chosen One” (2023), posed for photographs against a crafted replica of the Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes throne.
Huerta has expressed appreciation for the Planet of the Apes series in the past. In his book Orgullo Prieto (2022), he lauded director Rupert Wyatt’s 2011 adaptation, with particular emphasis on a memorable scene in which Caesar, the lead ape character, utters his first word. In reflecting on this moment, Huerta delved into the theme of identity formation, highlighting how our initial growth involves rejecting what we are not in order to discover who we truly are.
“Saying ‘no’ was what, at that moment, gave him power… He had not yet understood who he was supposed to be, what he had become, but he certainly knew what he was not…To me, Caesar’s ‘NO!’ is one of the most important lines in history.”
