James Corden knows exactly what he is doing. On a recent episode of After Hours on Fox Sports, Corden and his panelists engaged in the kind of lightweight, chaotic banter that makes for good television. The topic? Ranking Britain’s top four Harrys. The contenders? Harry Kane, Harry Styles, Harry Potter, and Prince Harry.

The debate was lively. Styles got some love. Potter got respect. Kane got a mention. But when Corden announced that Prince Harry would be appearing on the show in a few weeks, he declared: “He’s number one. The dude’s going to come here.”

Prince Harry is reportedly set to appear on James Corden’s After Hours in a few weeks, and honestly, this sounds like the kind of light chaos I can get behind.

Now, while this current segment ranks the top four British Harrys, which already feels like a setup, because let’s be serious, Princess Diana’s son is obviously taking the number one spot. Who else is competing? Harry Styles has devoted fans. Harry Potter has devoted readers. Prince Harry has devoted fans, devoted readers, and a whole country that cannot stop talking about him. The man is winning on every front.

The show is filmed in Los Angeles, so this will probably happen once Harry is back from his European vacation with Meghan Sussex and the children. And I have to say, James Corden knows exactly what he is doing. Bringing Harry on for a “best British Harry” ranking is a very clever way to get views without making the whole thing feel too serious.

This is when Harry is at his best. Not trapped in palace briefing wars or being used as tabloid content. Just being dry, funny, a little cheeky, and fully aware of how ridiculous the whole thing is. And you already know he is going to roast someone. Politely, of course. But still roast them. So now I need to ask: who is your favourite British Harry?
