Kate Middleton returned to Westminster Abbey for her Together at Christmas service, a project now shaped as her signature public moment for the year. The cameras captured a polished scene that centred her family and a carefully curated guest list. Yet the event also revealed who chose not to appear, and those absences cut through the serenade of praise around the Princess of Wales. Pippa Middleton stayed away. Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie declined their invitations. Each decision came with polite language, though their absence stood out against a narrative that relied on displays of unity. The most striking pattern came from the silence around Kate’s own circle, which contrasted sharply with the intense public speculation pushed toward Meghan Sussex, in the same news cycle.
Pippa Middleton’s Absence Fuels Growing Questions
Pippa Middleton’s decision not to attend the carol service drew interest, especially given her close relationship with her sister and her usual presence at public family moments. Her absence follows a year in which she kept her distance from Kate’s high-profile events. She did not join her at Wimbledon, despite their long association with the tournament. She was photographed on a yacht while Kate recovered from surgery for precancerous cells. These details sit in the public record and build a picture that invites reasonable scrutiny.

Royal commentators often urge restraint when discussing Middleton family matters. However, that restraint disappears when the topic involves Meghan’s family. Large social accounts speculated freely about Meghan’s relationship with her father on the same day they dismissed questions about Pippa’s absence as unfair. The contrast exposes a selective standard that shields Kate from the type of commentary routinely placed on other royal women. Pippa’s empty seat gained more weight because of the silence around it.

York Sisters Decline Kate’s Invitation
Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie chose not to attend the carol service, even after reports that the Princess of Wales reached out to them directly. Their father remains under renewed scrutiny, which made their presence valuable to a royal household eager to project steadiness. The Daily Mail noted that both sisters felt “touched” to be invited, yet their decision not to appear shaped the evening in a noticeable way.
Eugenie later shared a polite message supporting the event. Her words were warm and avoided any explanation for the absence, which placed her and her sister at a measured distance. The gesture functioned as courtesy rather than a sign of close involvement. King Charles and Queen Camilla also stayed away, which left the Princess of Wales without senior backing at an event designed to showcase connection. A service built to highlight unity instead revealed how uneven that support can be, even for a carefully managed royal engagement.

A Guest List Built for Optics
The carol service leaned heavily on celebrity presence, from Kate Winslet to Chiwetel Ejiofor. The event filled the Abbey with performers, sports figures and public servants. Kate’s own parents attended, along with James Middleton and his wife. This mix formed a strong visual backdrop for cameras and an appealing frame for ITV’s Christmas Eve broadcast. The scenes worked well for a royal household eager to present the Princess of Wales as a steady cultural figure.

When figures in her immediate and extended family choose not to attend, attention naturally shifts to the relationships beneath the surface. The palace often depends on the appearance of unity. When that appearance weakens, the public takes note, even when coverage attempts to steer the focus elsewhere.

Talk about slimmed down monarchy ..they are all skin and bones 😆😆 literally
Sad, pointless and so obviously staged for the camera.
At his advanced age, history of chronic illnesses, failing health, it is questionable what motivated Markle snr and his unemployed son to relocate to the Philippines, over 8,000 miles from the USA.
Questions:
who authorised the journalist (Caroline Graham) to be embedded with the Markles?
what is the public interest in the private lives of these obscure individuals?
who is funding them?
what checks and scrutiny into the activities of these individuals are being made?
what is being done to protect and safeguard the communities they have joined?
Likewise an investigation into the ethics of placing in the public domain the health issue of a private individual, which has become headline news, accompanied by conjecture and misinformation.
Simply put it is time to hold to account those responsible for this drama.
Think we all know the answer ..anything to smear and attack meghan generates clicks and income for these tabloid vultures. The silence by the palace from the very beginning..before her wedding gave them the green light to go hard and that they did and continue to do. Unfortunately meghan’s father and her half siblings took the bait and became part of the attack machine. I agree there’s alot of questions to be answered especially around Caroline Graham’s role in all this..very unethical journalism. The fact that meghan’s father’s health makes the front page of some uk papers is sureal and yet just a continuation of the same old attacks on Meghan daring to set boundaries and protect herself and her family.
This is such a disingenuous spin by you guys who have proven you hate The Princess of Wales. Interesting how you never refer to the grifter by her nickname, but you insist on calling the future Queen by a name the tabloids gave her. I guess you guys really love the tabloids when it suits your purpose of hating on the Princess.
Pippa wasn’t even in the country you morons, and Beatrice and Eugenie had other plans, but hey spin your hatred and lies all you can. It is so obvious you know nothing about the Royals, and keep making shit up to create a hateful narrative.
