Meghan Sussex’s As Ever has officially entered holiday gifting season, and this may be the brand’s most natural collection yet. After teasing The Holiday Collection: Chapter One with wicker baskets, evergreen branches and beautifully styled tables, As Ever launched its first wave of seasonal gifts on October 6. The collection includes chocolates made with Compartés, playing cards and larger gift baskets designed for entertaining.
As Ever described the collection as being made for “gifting, gathering, and everything in between.” The brand had already opened pre-orders for its $148 Advent calendar, but Chapter One expands the idea considerably.
What I like about this launch is that there is something for every kind of shopper. You do not have to commit to an enormous luxury hamper. There are smaller edible gifts, something permanent for the home and full baskets for people you really want to spoil.
Here are the As Ever holiday gifts I would actually consider buying.
For the person who loves game night
Keepsake Double-Deck Parlour Card Set
The Keepsake Double-Deck Parlour Card Set is one of the more unusual gifts in the As Ever holiday collection because it is something the recipient can continue using long after Christmas.
It costs $48 and includes two decks of playing cards presented as a keepsake set. As Ever describes it as a whimsical gift designed for holiday gatherings.
This is a smart choice for someone who likes entertaining but does not necessarily want another edible gift. It also fits neatly into the brand’s wider idea of slowing down, gathering around a table and making ordinary evenings feel a little more special.
Best for: Game-night people, hosts and the person who already owns everything edible.
For the chocolate person
The Botanical Confections Chocolate Bar Trio
The Botanical Confections Chocolate Bar Trio is probably the easiest entry point into As Ever’s holiday collection if you want something indulgent without committing to one of the larger baskets.
It costs $42 and includes three As Ever x Compartés chocolate bars inspired by the brand’s aromatic teas. The flavours are Ginger Lemon, Lavender Honey and Hibiscus Rose, which gives the trio a much more distinctive identity than a standard box of chocolates.
It is also one of the products that best connects different parts of the As Ever range. The teas, honey and botanical flavours that appear elsewhere in the brand have effectively been translated into chocolate.
Best for: Chocolate lovers, foodies, teachers, colleagues, hosts and smaller Christmas gifts.
For someone who loves beautiful food gifts
Treasures Of The Orchard Chocolate Covered Fruit Gift Box
Treasures Of The Orchard is a more luxurious alternative to a conventional chocolate box. It costs $75 and features hand-dipped orchard fruit made as part of the As Ever x Compartés collaboration.
This one feels particularly on-brand because fruit has been central to As Ever from the beginning. Meghan’s fruit spreads helped establish the pantry line, so turning orchard fruit into a holiday confection feels like a natural extension rather than a random seasonal product.
It also has the advantage of being ready to put straight onto a dessert or holiday table. There is no preparation involved, but it still feels more considered than arriving with an ordinary box of chocolates.
Best for: Dinner hosts, food lovers, families and anyone who likes luxury edible gifts.
For the serious entertainer
The Parlour Basket
The Parlour Basket is one of the more lifestyle-focused gifts in the collection. It costs $242, and As Ever describes it as the perfect gift for “friendly competition.”
This is less about stocking someone’s pantry and more about creating an evening around the products. The whole concept leans into games, conversation and entertaining at home, which makes it quite different from the Pantry Basket.
It is also one of the stronger options if you are buying for a couple or family rather than one individual. The point is not simply to consume the contents but to use them as part of a gathering.
Best for: Couples, families, game-night lovers and people who regularly entertain at home.
For the host who deserves the big gift
The Hostess Basket
The Hostess Basket is the obvious choice for someone who enjoys having people over. It costs $211, with As Ever describing it as the perfect gift for a holiday gathering.
This basket leans more heavily into the wider As Ever lifestyle than the food-focused Pantry Basket. It combines products suited to entertaining and creating atmosphere rather than concentrating solely on pantry staples.
That distinction is useful if you are choosing between the baskets. I would pick this one for someone who enjoys setting the table, lighting candles and turning dinner or drinks into an occasion.
Best for: Christmas hosts, home entertainers, newlyweds and anyone who enjoys creating a beautiful atmosphere at home.
For the person who wants the full As Ever pantry
The Pantry Basket
The Pantry Basket is probably the strongest choice for someone who wants the classic As Ever experience rather than the more entertaining-focused Parlour or Hostess baskets.
It costs $259 and comes in As Ever’s large woven wicker basket with leather and gold-tone details. Inside are the Signature Fruit Spread Gift Box, Honey Duo Gift Box, Flower Sprinkles, Herbal Lemon Ginger Tea, Herbal Hibiscus Tea, Herbal Peppermint Tea, Hot Toddy Mulling Spice Kit and Spiced Cider Mulling Spice Kit.
That makes this one particularly good for someone who already likes Meghan’s pantry range or wants to try several of the brand’s best-known products at once.
I would put this above the Hostess Basket for a serious foodie, while the Hostess Basket makes more sense for someone interested in the wider home and entertaining side of As Ever.
Best for: Food lovers, families, Christmas hosts and anyone who wants a broad introduction to the As Ever pantry.
Which As Ever holiday gift would I buy?
For an easy gift, I would choose the Botanical Confections Chocolate Bar Trio. For a serious foodie, the Pantry Basket is the standout. And for someone who loves entertaining, the Hostess Basket probably offers the best balance between food and home products.
What As Ever is doing particularly well here is selling an atmosphere rather than simply selling food. The first promotional image showed a traditional wicker picnic-style basket with brown leather straps and an As Ever luggage-style tag tucked beside evergreen branches. Another showed Compartés chocolate sitting at a carefully dressed holiday place setting.
That is the collection in two photographs: things you bring with you, things you put on the table and things designed to make people stay awhile. And that is a far stronger holiday proposition than simply sticking Christmas packaging around the existing pantry line.
