Prince Harry and Meghan Sussex returned to local service this week, volunteering at Our Big Kitchen Los Angeles (OBKLA) alongside their children, Archie and Lilibet. In partnership with their Archewell Foundation, the family joined other volunteers to prepare and package meals for Angelenos facing food insecurity. Wearing aprons and baseball caps, the Sussexes were photographed chopping vegetables, scooping hot food into trays, and baking cookies.

A video montage on Meghan’s Instagram Story showed the children assisting at the food station, with the banner “Show Up, Do Good” overlaid on the footage.

70,000 Meals and Counting

OBKLA is a community-run nonprofit that delivers over 70,000 fresh meals annually to schools, shelters, senior centers, and families in crisis. During the Sussexes’ visit, meals prepared were distributed to organizations including Mercy Housing, Pico Union Project and PATH.

Founded on principles of inclusion and dignity, OBKLA uses food to create community connection and fight hunger across Los Angeles. Its mission mirrors Archewell’s commitment to “putting compassion into action” by supporting grassroots solutions to everyday problems.

A statement on Archewell.org praised those working to ensure “no one is left behind” during the holiday season. The foundation encouraged donations to support OBKLA’s year-round operations.

A Family Holiday of Quiet Service

Since relocating to California, the couple has quietly supported several Los Angeles-based initiatives. In 2020, they delivered meals with Project Angel Food and prepared food with Homeboy Industries. In 2025, they joined World Central Kitchen to distribute supplies to wildfire victims. Each effort has reflected their broader mission to serve vulnerable communities. While major platforms often spotlight their global projects, local acts of service remain a core part of their public life.

This appearance continues a strategy of purposeful privacy. The use of Instagram Stories to share selected moments suggests an intent to highlight action rather than promotion. Meghan and Harry did not release a formal press statement but allowed Archewell’s messaging to carry the narrative.

With public trust in celebrity causes under strain, the Sussexes appear focused on impact over attention. Their quiet presence at OBKLA offered a glimpse into how their family blends service with season, one meal tray at a time.
