People asked for some coverage of the gowns from this year’s Oscars, and honestly, there were some really strong looks on that red carpet. A few stars absolutely understood the assignment.

Wunmi Mosaku,

Let’s start with Wunmi Mosaku, who had a huge night after earning her first Oscar nomination for Sinners. Wunmi arrived in a sparkling custom Louis Vuitton gown in that rich emerald green that photographs beautifully. The silhouette was body-conscious with cutouts, and it highlighted her pregnancy in the best way. Honestly, this color was perfect on her. She’s been serving color all awards season, and this was another hit.

Chase Infiniti

Speaking of Louis Vuitton, Chase Infiniti also wore the house for her Oscars debut. Her gown was this soft lilac, ruffled creation with a halter neckline and cascading layers down the skirt. It was very dramatic and very youthful at the same time. The purple looked incredible on the carpet lights, too.

Jayme Lawson

Jayme Lawson went in a totally different direction and wore Loewe. Her gown was this sleek cobalt blue look paired with David Yurman jewelry and Christian Louboutin shoes. The color was stunning, and the overall styling was very polished. Honestly, cobalt blue on a red carpet rarely fails.

Zendaya

Of course, Zendaya also showed up to remind everyone why she’s one of the best-dressed people alive. She presented during the ceremony wearing a custom chocolate brown Louis Vuitton gown designed by Nicolas Ghesquière and styled by Law Roach. The off-the-shoulder sculptural design and high slit were classic Zendaya: dramatic but still very controlled.

Overall, Louis Vuitton really dominated the carpet this year. Between Wunmi, Chase and Zendaya, the house had multiple standout looks. And honestly? Bold color was the real trend of the night. Emerald green, cobalt blue, lilac — it was a refreshing change from the usual sea of beige Oscars gowns.
