Zendaya and Law Roach have given us some of the most unforgettable fashion moments of the past decade. From her futuristic Mugler robot suit during the Dune: Part Two promotional tour to her spectacular archival looks, their partnership has helped redefine celebrity fashion. But Zendaya’s loyalty to Law extends far beyond the red carpet.
During a recent appearance on the Aspire with Emma Grede podcast, Roach revealed something remarkable about their professional relationship: Zendaya makes sure he is financially included in her fashion partnerships. And I absolutely love this.
Zendaya Makes Sure Law Roach Gets His Share
Speaking with Emma Grede, Roach explained that Zendaya insists he be included in the fashion deals she negotiates.
“Any fashion deal that she does, I’m included in those deals,” Roach said, according to the interview excerpt.
And if a brand doesn’t want to include him? Zendaya’s response, as Roach described it, is simple:
“Oh no, if he’s not coming, I’m not doing it.”
That’s an extraordinary level of professional loyalty, particularly in an industry where stylists can spend years building a celebrity’s image without necessarily sharing in the lucrative endorsement deals that follow.
Roach described how their approach challenged conventional expectations about the relationship between celebrities, fashion houses and stylists.
Importantly, the arrangement concerns the fashion deals Roach discussed; it doesn’t establish that he receives a percentage of every commercial agreement Zendaya signs.
They’ve Built Their Success Together
Roach has worked with Zendaya since she was 14, long before she became one of Hollywood’s most influential fashion figures. Their collaboration has evolved alongside her career, from Disney Channel star to Emmy-winning actress and global fashion ambassador.
Speaking about their relationship on the podcast, Roach explained:
“We’ve grown up together. We have this super trust.”
And that trust clearly extends to business. Zendaya understands that her fashion image didn’t develop in isolation. Roach helped create the visual identity that makes her such an attractive partner for luxury brands. What I find particularly impressive is that Zendaya apparently doesn’t wait for Law to negotiate his value separately.

She makes his inclusion part of the conversation. Think about how many creative professionals contribute to a celebrity’s success without receiving comparable financial recognition. Stylists, makeup artists, hairstylists and other creative collaborators can help transform someone into a valuable commercial brand.
Yet their contribution isn’t always reflected in the financial rewards. Zendaya appears determined to ensure that the person responsible for so much of her fashion success benefits alongside her.
And she has the leverage to make that happen. There’s a difference between thanking someone for helping you succeed and making sure they share in that success. Zendaya seems to understand both.
I also appreciate that Roach isn’t simply describing a celebrity who treats him kindly. He’s describing a business partner who recognises his contribution and uses her negotiating power to protect it.
Their partnership is already opening new doors. Earlier this month, Zendaya and Law launched their second co-designed fashion collection with sportswear brand On, while Law has also secured a new role as ASOS’s first-ever Stylist in Residence. It’s wonderful to see him expanding his influence beyond celebrity styling and building a career on his own terms.
That is a valuable lesson about loyalty, particularly for women building businesses and careers. Support shouldn’t always be symbolic. Sometimes it should be written into the contract.
And perhaps that’s why Zendaya and Law Roach’s partnership has lasted so long. They aren’t just creating memorable fashion moments together. They’re making sure their success is mutually rewarding.
