Representative Jasmine Crockett, 43, has become the latest target of Laura Loomer, 31, after the far-right activist escalated her attacks when the Texas Democrat explained why she would not support a resolution honoring conservative figure Charlie Kirk. Loomer’s posts revived racist stereotypes and sexist tropes long used to undermine Black women in public life.
Charlie Kirk Resolution Sparks Division
The House recently voted to grant Charlie Kirk a state-sponsored funeral. The resolution passed with 310 votes in favor and 58 opposed, with most “no” votes coming from lawmakers of color. Crockett stood among them.
She explained that Kirk had gone after her directly, accusing her of promoting the “great replacement” theory. As a civil rights attorney, she said she could not support a measure that honored someone who demeaned communities like the one she represents. Crockett compared the effort to the removal of Confederate relics, calling Kirk a “new age relic” of racist ideology. Her words highlighted a deep divide in how different groups within Congress viewed Kirk’s legacy.

Loomer Escalates Racist Attacks
Loomer responded to Crockett’s position with a barrage of racist insults on social media. She called the congresswoman “ghetto,” mocked her as “DEI Shaniqua,” and suggested she should be working at a fast-food chain instead of in Congress. She also targeted Crockett’s supporters, posting a message that mimicked Black speech patterns and joked about being shot.
Jasmine Crockett’s @JasmineForUS homeboys and homegirls are big mad I called her what she is:

Ghetto.
I guess I finna watch my back. God forbid Shaniqua pops a cap in my ass.
You feels me?
These attacks built on a history of targeting Crockett. Earlier this year, Loomer described her as a “hood rat” and “black woman about to start a fight in a Popeyes parking lot.” In each instance, the intent was to portray Crockett as unprofessional and unworthy of her office. The repetition of these tropes echoes strategies used against other Black women in politics, from Kamala Harris to Letitia James.
After Loomer’s racist post attacking Crockett, it is worth noting that her outrage over Kirk’s memory rings hollow. Only two months before his death, Loomer had denounced Kirk herself, calling him a “charlatan” and “political opportunist” who betrayed Trump. She later deleted the post once he was killed.

Double Standards on Free Speech
The reaction to Loomer’s words exposes a glaring double standard. Jimmy Kimmel was briefly pulled from the air after joking about how quickly Donald Trump moved on from Kirk’s death. His remarks targeted the president, not Kirk, yet ABC suspended him under pressure from affiliates.
It isn’t “Nihilistic Violent Extremism.” It’s Democrat radicalization.

The First Amendment does not protect incitement, and yet the Left has spent years normalizing political violence.

Meanwhile, Loomer has faced no institutional consequences for directing racial slurs at a sitting member of Congress. Outside of Black women on platforms like TikTok and X, few public figures have defended Crockett. Democratic leadership has stayed quiet, while far-right groups celebrated Loomer’s insults. The imbalance exemplifies how public discourse punishes satire but tolerates outright racism.
Disturbing Pattern of Attacking Black Women
Loomer’s fixation on Crockett is part of a wider pattern. She has previously gone after women of color in positions of power, accusing them of being unqualified or dangerous. By branding them with stereotypes, she seeks to strip them of legitimacy.
Related Stories
Crockett has largely refused to engage directly, focusing instead on policy work in Congress. Her record includes advocacy for voting rights, police reform, and civil rights enforcement. Yet her presence as a young Black woman in a position of influence makes her a consistent target. The attacks against her are not isolated insults but part of a broader climate of hostility that has grown in American politics.
Loomer’s attacks on Crockett also reveal a deeper inconsistency. While she now frames herself as one of Kirk’s defenders, she had publicly ridiculed him in July for not being loyal enough to Trump, even calling him a fraud. After Kirk’s assassination, she erased that criticism from her feed, underscoring how her outrage shifts depending on what serves her agenda.
Final Thoughts
Jasmine Crockett is being singled out not because of her record but because she represents a form of leadership that threatens entrenched power structures. Laura Loomer’s campaign of racist ridicule aims to weaken her standing, but it also reveals how little accountability exists when Black women are maligned in public life. The silence of institutions sends its own message. By failing to defend Crockett, they normalize attacks that should never have a place in politics.
