Doja Cat is one of those celebrities who can be deeply exhausting one minute and accidentally hilarious the next. She has a long history of trolling, spiralling, picking fights with her own fans, and saying things that make you want to log off for your own peace. But every now and then, the chaos points in the right direction. This time, the target was Elon Musk.

Doja wants X to bring back the audio post feature. That is the practical part. The messy part is that instead of asking like a normal person, she turned the request into a public roast session and aimed it directly at the man who spent billions buying Twitter, only to make it worse by turning the once useful app into a hellscape called X.

And honestly, she is right. Elon broke half the site, flooded the platform with racism and far-right content, and keeps pushing Trump-adjacent politics while pretending he is doing humanity a favour. So when Doja decided to drag him for sport, the internet reacted the way it always does when Elon gets humbled on his own app: it laughed.

Twitter Was Better Before Elon Turned It Into X

You don’t have to like Doja Cat to agree with her point: Elon Musk ruined Twitter. He bought one of the most useful social media platforms in the world, renamed it, X like a divorced man naming his motorcycle, broke basic features, boosted the worst people online, turned verification into a subscription badge, and somehow made the app feel both more chaotic and more boring. Now he is trying to copy TikTok with new reaction features. How original.

So when Doja asked for the audio post feature back, she was speaking for a very specific group of users who remember when Twitter had actual functionality instead of endless crypto spam, blue-check trolls, and Elon replying “interesting” to the worst man alive.

That is why people were laughing. Not because it was mature. Not because it was a high-minded political critique. But because Elon Musk spent billions of dollars to own the conversation, he still cannot stop pop stars from cooking him on his own app.

That is the funniest part. Elon bought the platform, rewrote the rules, changed the name, bent the algorithm around himself, and monetised the clout. After all that control, all that money, and all that ego, the main content on his own app is still people telling him he looks like he eats sand. Maybe that is the real legacy of X: not free speech, not innovation, and definitely not the “everything app.” Just a digital town square where the landlord keeps getting heckled from the balcony.
