Claressa Shields once again proved why she calls herself the “Greatest Woman of All Time” (GWOAT) by defeating Danielle Perkins in Flint, Michigan, to become the first undisputed women’s heavyweight champion. Shields won by unanimous decision on February 2, 2025, with judges scoring the fight 100-89, 99-90, and 97-92 in her favor.

With this victory, Shields became the first boxer—male or female—to hold undisputed titles in three different weight classes in the four-belt era. She now reigns as the champion in the junior middleweight, middleweight, and heavyweight divisions.

A Historic Night for Women’s Boxing

The fight took place at the Dort Financial Center in Shields’ hometown of Flint, Michigan, where she received a hero’s welcome. The undefeated champion stepped into the ring determined to cement her place in boxing history, and she delivered.

Despite suffering a shoulder injury before the fight, Shields controlled the match from the opening round. She landed 29% of her punches and used her footwork and speed to keep Perkins off balance. Perkins, who entered the fight with a 5-0 record, struggled to match Shields’ technical skills and precision.

In the final seconds of the tenth round, Shields dropped Perkins with a powerful right hook, sealing her victory in dominant fashion.
