Cassie Ventura gave harrowing testimony in the federal trial of Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, detailing years of abuse, sexual exploitation, and emotional manipulation. Speaking under oath on May 13, 2025, Cassie described how the music mogul subjected her to physical violence, coerced group sex acts, and a pattern of surveillance and control that began when she was just 22. Her testimony followed cross-examination of a male escort and marked a turning point in the U.S. v. Sean Combs case now unfolding in the Southern District of New York.

The trial, which has drawn national attention, includes charges tied to sex trafficking, coercion, and federal racketeering. Cassie’s account outlined in disturbing detail how Diddy weaponized wealth, power, and access to exploit her over the course of a decade. Her testimony contradicted the defense’s claims that she acted with full consent. Instead, she said her experiences were rooted in fear, coercion, and survival.

Cassie Describes “Freakoffs,” Drug Use, and Violence

On the witness stand, Cassie stated that Diddy introduced group sex rituals, which he called “freakoffs,” within the first year of their relationship. Diddy orchestrated and recorded these sessions, which included hired male escorts, heavy drug use, and degrading sexual acts. She testified that Diddy often asked her to set up the sessions, book hotels under aliases, and source escorts from Craigslist and Backpage. He referred to them as “new staff” to avoid detection.

Cassie said she used MDMA, GHB, mushrooms, and ketamine to mentally disassociate during these encounters. She reported feeling sick or vomiting during many of the sessions, but Diddy demanded she continue. In one instance, she recalled a four-day drug-fueled sex marathon that left her drained and unable to work on her music. She said, “There was no space to do anything else but recover and try to feel normal again.”

She testified that Diddy forced her to act out his sexual fantasies, including rubbing semen from male escorts onto his body. “Usually on his nipples,” she testified. “I didn’t want to do that.” The government entered email records showing Diddy coordinating drug use with Cassie before sessions, including messages where he said he was “flying” after taking ecstasy. Cassie testified she used drugs because “it was something I hated.”

Surveillance, Assault, and a 2016 Hotel Attack Caught on Camera

Her emotional state on the stand showed the toll of the abuse. She said Diddy made her feel like an object and frequently watched her on FaceTime or filmed her without consent. When asked what she did with videos that ended up on her devices, she said, “I would delete them. I never wanted anyone to see them.” She testified that she begged Diddy to delete videos from his devices as well, but did not know if he ever did.

“The best way to describe it is, his eyes just go black. The version that I was in love with is no longer there,” Cassie said. “He would be violent with me. His look would just change over—he would just become a different person. I wouldn’t know what would happen.”

Physical abuse was also frequent. Cassie said Diddy stomped on her head and gave her black eyes. A widely circulated 2016 video from an InterContinental Hotel shows Diddy throwing her to the ground and stealing her phone and purse after she tried to leave a session early. She confirmed the video’s authenticity and said she was trying to call for help.

Defense Pushes Back While Jury Watches in Silence

Earlier that day, the court heard from Daniel Phillip, a male escort who testified about his involvement in the freakoffs. He said he was hired six or seven times and had sex with Cassie at Combs’s request. Under cross-examination, Combs’s attorney Xavier Donaldson attempted to paint Cassie as a willing participant who paid for hotel rooms and directed sessions. Phillip rejected that characterization, saying there was no clear “leader” and denying Cassie was ever in control.

When Donaldson suggested that Phillip and Cassie had a romantic connection, Phillip said he had no relationship with her outside of the sessions. He also pushed back against the claim that Diddy asked him to leave after a dispute, stating that Diddy often orchestrated what happened in the rooms.

Cassie’s husband, Alex Fine, attended court to support her. Combs’s legal team asked the judge to bar him from the room during parts of the testimony. They argued he might be called as a witness later. Fine has publicly defended Cassie in the past, including posting messages threatening legal action against Combs for the abuse she endured.

Judge Arun Subramanian allowed jurors to hear evidence about Diddy’s threats to release sex tapes.
