There is a certain poetry in watching the universe deliver consequences with impeccable timing. For years, reality star turned lifestyle entrepreneur Bethenny Frankel has positioned herself as an unsolicited adviser to Meghan Sussex. The commentary often arrived with a familiar tone: condescension packaged as business wisdom.
Now Frankel has problems of her own.
According to court filings first reported by TMZ, Frankel’s former attorney Jamie Schreck claims the reality star has stalled a malpractice lawsuit against him for years by failing to move the case forward or appear for a deposition. Schreck has asked the court to dismiss the suit, arguing Frankel has effectively abandoned it.
The dispute dates back to a lawsuit Frankel filed in 2017. She accused Schreck of mishandling a trust document tied to her divorce from Jason Hoppy, which she claims gave her ex-husband a 50 percent interest in a New York condo. Frankel sought $2 million in damages.
Schreck now says the case has sat largely idle since 2022. In court papers, he even offered to settle the matter for $25,000, a fraction of the original claim.
Frankel’s current lawyer told TMZ the team is “actively engaging with the case.” Still, the timeline raises eyebrows.
Because during the same period the lawsuit allegedly gathered dust, Frankel found plenty of time to critique someone else’s life.
Bethenny Frankel’s running commentary on Meghan Sussex
Frankel’s commentary about Meghan Sussex, has become something of a recurring segment across her podcast and social media feeds.
After the Sussexes’ 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey, Frankel dismissed Meghan’s account of her experience within the royal family. The following year, she called Meghan “self-important” and “sanctimonious” during podcast discussions.
By 2023, she suggested Prince Harry and Meghan had “botched” their departure from royal life and should disappear from public view for a while.
As recently as 2025, Frankel was still offering brand analysis, arguing that Meghan lacked a clear identity and needed guidance with business ventures. But the numbers tell a different story. Meghan’s lifestyle brand As Ever has seen multiple product drops sell out in minutes. Website traffic jumped 36 percent between October and January 2026, and when a brief inventory glitch exposed internal numbers, reports suggested more than 860,000 fruit spread gift boxes had sold, generating roughly $34–36 million in revenue at retail pricing.
But yes, apparently Meghan has no idea what she’s doing. Her Netflix series With Love, Meghan drew 5.3 million views and more than 25 million hours watched within six months. Her podcast Archetypes debuted at No. 1 on Spotify charts in multiple countries, earned millions of downloads and won industry awards, while her later show Confessions of a Female Founder continued her push into media and entrepreneurship.
In other words, Meghan Sussex has built a functioning media and lifestyle brand while raising two children and operating under the kind of tabloid scrutiny few public figures face.
Meanwhile, Bethenny Frankel is reportedly still trying to schedule a deposition tied to a lawsuit that has been sitting largely dormant since 2022. So perhaps the real brand confusion isn’t in Montecito. It might be unfolding in a New York courtroom where paperwork has been collecting dust for years. The irony is hard to miss. And yes, it lands with a certain chef’s kiss.
I have never watched anything so pitiful.

Her admission of envy, the sly mention that she knew Meghan’s ex, the audacity to think she can advise another woman, the nonsense rambling about everything else.

Perhaps the best advice is silence
Frankel recently shared that she is dealing with serious health concerns, including chronic kidney disease and a liver nodule. Health challenges deserve compassion, and no one wishes that on anyone. But the situation also offers an obvious lesson.
Sometimes the most strategic move is focusing on one’s own life rather than offering commentary on someone else’s.
If Frankel wants to position herself as a business authority, the first step may be resolving a lawsuit that has reportedly been sitting unresolved for years.
