Megan Thee Stallion should be focusing on joy. She’s reclaiming her music, glowing on magazine covers, and living as the icon she is. But instead, she’s once again being forced to confront lies, deflect harassment, and remind the public, for the hundredth exhausting time, that she was shot, she told the truth, and the courts agreed.
This week, after Tory Lanez’s legal team held a press conference to claim they had “new evidence” that could overturn his 2022 conviction for shooting Megan in the foot, Megan had no choice but to speak out. “I’m tired of being harassed about this…Leave me alone you f***ing demon.” And she’s not wrong — because the man who shot her is in prison, and yet the gaslighting continues.
The “New Evidence” Is Old Lies in a New Outfit
Tory Lanez was convicted by a jury and sentenced to 10 years in prison after overwhelming evidence showed he shot Megan in July 2020. He apologized on a recorded jail call. Witnesses saw it. DNA evidence undermined his defense. Megan herself testified under oath — and still, people doubt her.
Lanez’s team now claims that someone else — Kelsey Harris — was the shooter, based on alleged hearsay from a former bodyguard. But as Megan’s legal team laid out in a new 31-page presentation titled “Overwhelming Evidence of Mr. Peterson’s Guilt”, this is nothing but recycled misinformation. The slides methodically dismantle the rumors, citing sworn testimony, trial exhibits, and expert analysis.
Tory Lanez had a chance to testify. He didn’t. His driver was available to speak under oath. He wasn’t called. And the so-called Ring footage his fans claim would exonerate him? It was already submitted at trial, and the jury still found him guilty.

Megan Has Support — and She Shouldn’t Have to Beg for It
Among those publicly defending Megan is SZA, who reminded the public that the verdict already happened and that Megan should be allowed to heal without constant retraumatization. It shouldn’t take another woman in the industry to say the obvious, but in a world where abusers are platformed and victims are doubted, solidarity matters.
SZA defends Megan Thee Stallion in new comment:

“The density !!!!! I'm actually SO shocked at the amount of ppl fully comfortable bullying a woman that's proven to be a victim of assault ??! Like out loud where other ppl can see you ?? Lmao u finna be stupid OUTLOUD ?” pic.twitter.com/BRhmDLoHYJ
Meanwhile, blogs, manosphere influencers, and even a few rappers continue to push propaganda that Megan lied. They don’t care about facts — they care about maintaining a status quo where men with power can act with impunity, and women who speak up are dragged for sport.
Megan’s lawyers shouldn’t have to drop entire presentations to prove what the courts already confirmed. She shouldn’t have to beg the world to believe her when there’s surveillance, ballistics, witness testimony, and an actual conviction. But here we are.
The Harassment Is the Point — And Megan Is Still Standing
This campaign against Megan isn’t just about Tory Lanez. It’s about what happens when a Black woman says she was hurt, and the world says, “But are you sure?” It’s about a justice system that rarely works for victims, actually works, and people still refuse to accept it.
Megan told the truth. She was shot. The man who shot her was convicted. And yet, she’s the one being asked to prove herself over and over again, while he plays victim from prison.
And the sad truth? Her strength still threatens people more than his violence ever did.
