Reality-TV mess has a way of following people off the screen, but this latest story about Huda Mustafa is something else entirely. The former Love Island USA personality is now dealing with a temporary restraining order, and the allegations coming from her boyfriend’s ex are serious.

According to a report from TMZ, Nicole Olivera, the ex-girlfriend of Huda’s current boyfriend, Louis Russell, went to court seeking protection for herself and her young son. Olivera claims Mustafa allegedly threatened her, threatened the child and tried to break into their Los Angeles building during an incident earlier this year.

A judge has already granted a temporary restraining order, which bars Mustafa from coming within 100 yards of Olivera, her son or their home.

The Allegations Are Serious

In the court documents cited by TMZ, Olivera claims the situation escalated in February. She alleges that Mustafa made threats against herself and others, including saying she would kill herself and swearing on her own daughter’s life while making what Olivera described as “terrifying” and “extremely mentally unstable” threats.

Olivera also says Mustafa showed up at her building and attempted to get inside, allegedly threatening to knock on doors throughout the building. Police were called to the scene.

According to TMZ, the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed that officers received a call on February 21 about a suspect making threats and saying she planned to return. The caller also reported that the suspect was threatening suicide. According to TMZ, the caller identified the suspect as Mustafa.

Olivera’s filing also claims Mustafa has been harassing her on social media, and says the situation has made her fear for both her safety and her son’s.

The Court Took It Seriously

Restraining orders are not automatically granted just because someone asks for one. A judge still has to review the allegations and determine whether there is enough evidence to justify temporary protection. In this case, the judge signed off on the temporary order while the situation proceeds through the court system.

Mustafa has not publicly responded to the allegations. TMZ reported that they reached out to her for comment but did not receive a response.

Viewers of Love Island USA saw Mustafa engage in multiple arguments with other contestants and escalate several chaotic confrontations rather than resolve conflicts calmly.

Reality-TV drama doesn’t automatically translate to real-life behavior, of course. But the new allegations are resurfacing old conversations about how volatile some of those moments on the show appeared to viewers.

The Bigger Conversation

Mustafa has also faced controversy before. In late 2025, a livestream incident involving a racial slur directed at her former co-star Olandria Carthen went viral online. Mustafa later apologized and said she did not hear the slur clearly at first and did not condone racism. Her boyfriend, Louis Russell also apologized.

Even after those apologies, the clip continued to circulate on social media and became a major source of backlash during the season’s aftermath. She subsequently lost a partnership with the cosmetics brand Huda Beauty.

Now, with the restraining-order case unfolding, the reality-TV star is once again at the center of a controversy that is quickly spreading online.

For now, the key facts are simple: the restraining order is real, the allegations are serious, and the legal process will determine what actually happened next.
